Ninja water reservoirs are model-specific and do not swap between ranges. Find the model code on the base of the machine (CM401, CP307, CE251 and so on) and match the tank to that code, not to the cup capacity. The flip-top lid is a separate part from the tank on several models, so check which one actually broke before ordering.

OEM or aftermarket?
Ninja has sold a lot of coffee makers and the reservoirs are not shared between them. Ordering by cup count is the reliable way to get the wrong one, because there are several different twelve-cup Ninja machines with different tanks.
Read the model code first
Every Ninja carries a model code on a label underneath or on the back: CM401, CE251, CP307, CFP301 and so on. That code, not the capacity printed on the carafe, is what determines which tank fits. The Specialty CM401 and the 12-Cup Programmable CE251 are both twelve-cup machines with different reservoirs.
If the label has worn off, the tank itself usually has a moulding code on the underside. Photograph it before you throw the old one out – it is the fastest way to confirm a match.
The lid is often the part that failed
On the CP307 and CP301 the flip-top lid is a separate part from the tank, and the lid hinge is a far more common failure than a cracked tank. Before ordering a full reservoir, work out which piece actually broke. A lid is a fraction of the price and a much easier swap.
The leak that is not the tank
Water underneath a Ninja gets blamed on the reservoir constantly, and it is often something else. The test takes two minutes: dry the machine and the counter completely, then run a brew and watch for the first drop.
A genuine tank crack leaks whether the machine is running or not, because it is just gravity through a split. A leak that only appears while brewing is coming from the outlet seal or the valve the tank feeds, and a new tank will not fix it. Do not cross-order from the Thirsti
Ninja’s Thirsti drink system also uses a removable reservoir and it shows up in the same searches. It is a beverage system rather than a coffee maker and its tank fits nothing in the coffee range. Check the listing names your machine’s model code.

Match the listing to your model code. Where a listing names a specific set of codes, that list is the fitment – if yours is not on it, keep looking rather than assuming.
While the tank is out

How do I find my Ninja model number?

My Ninja is leaking from underneath - is the reservoir cracked?
Not necessarily, and this is the most common misdiagnosis. Dry everything, then run a brew and watch where the first drop appears. A tank crack leaks whether or not the machine is brewing. A leak that only appears during a brew is coming from the valve or the seal at the tank outlet, not from the tank itself.
Can I use a reservoir from a different Ninja?
No. Even where the tank looks similar, the outlet position and the seal profile differ between ranges, and a tank that sits a millimetre off will weep at the joint rather than sealing.
Does a replacement tank come with the seal?
Usually yes on the complete assembly, and usually not on a bare tank. If your old seal is flattened or torn, that is worth confirming before ordering, because a new tank on an old seal leaks exactly like the tank you just replaced.
