Monthly: tablets and a brush
Empty the hopper, run cleaning tablets through at a medium setting, discard the output, then run a small dose of beans and discard that too. Brush out the catch bin and the exit chute. That is fifteen minutes a month and it prevents most of the problems people bring to a deep clean.
Every few months: burr out
- Unplug it. Not optional – the Encore starts with a switch that is easy to knock.

Why dry cleaning only
Encore burrs are hardened steel. Steel rusts, and a rusted cutting edge does not come back — it holds grounds, tears rather than shears, and produces exactly the inconsistent grind you were trying to fix. So: a stiff dry brush, a vacuum or a blower, and tablets for anything the brush will not shift. Nothing wet in the grind path, ever.
